What is NetGeo's privacy policy? What are the implications of geo-intelligence technology for my personal privacy?
NetGeo™, Inc. is a leading provider of Internet customer intelligence solutions aimed at enabling web businesses to better serve their customers. The company's flagship product, NetGeo SM , actually enhances a user's web capabilities while being less intrusive than current intelligence methods such as cookies and required user registration. Moreover, NetGeo maintains personal privacy standards in the deployment of its technology and in all practices.
- Verifia's technology deployed by NetGeo is non-invasive. The geographic location methodologies are based soley on a web user's Internet Protocol (IP) address. NetGeo determines the geographic location of the IP server, and extrapolates broad geographic location about the user in terms of estimated country, city, state, city and zip code. Analysis is based on the IP address and not the user's physical location.
- Verifia's NetGeo does not associate IP addresses with a user's personal information. The technology does not utilize cookies, registration or click-stream data. There is no collection of personal data such as name, home or e-mail address.
- Verifia's business focuses on the prevention of identity fraud, retention of digital rights, improved analytics, and personalized marketing on the web. Verifia's pledge is to support web sites in providing the best service and experience to their web visitors by enabling more content to be available on the web and by providing the means for a more relevant, customized user web experience.
- While Verifia prides itself on serving respected clients who practice better business practices, Verifia does not control the privacy policies of its customers, and therefore cannot prevent customers from merging geographic information with data collected from non-NetGeo sources. For this reason, we encourage you to carefully examine the privacy policies of Web sites you frequent.
